This 596.3 gram cut fragment of iron meteorite comes from the famous Canyon Diablo meteorite in Arizona, USA. The meteorite displays a classic outer shell of rusty brown iron-oxide and has been cut and polished on one surface to reveal its solid metal interior containing inclusions of Cohenite crystals. As is typical of Canyon Diablo meteorites some rusting has continued across the cut surface. This is a quite large specimen from this famous IAB Iron Meteorite. Ex Franz Lammer Collection.
