Very rich vitreous slightly translucent bluish gray masses throughout matrix. Very good example for the species.Located in the Vysocina Region of the Czech Republic, Dolni Bory is world-famous for its complex granitic pegmatites intruding into metamorphic rocks of the Moldanubian Zone. Industrial extraction of feldspar and quartz from these pegmatite veins was active for decades before commercial mining operations ended in the 1970s. Today, the locality is celebrated among mineral collectors as the discovery site for sekaninaite, a rare iron-rich cyclosilicate mineral that forms a solid-solution series with cordierite. First identified in specimens collected from Pegmatite Vein No. 4 and named in honor of Czech mineralogist Josef Sekanina, sekaninaite occurs in albite zones as attractive grayish-blue to bluish-violet crystals and mass aggregations, making Dolni Bory the worldwide type locality for collector-grade specimens of this species.
