Quartz var. Gwindel

Lovely miniature from the Furka Pass in Switzerland, this Gwindel is glassy, slightly smoky in color, and complete all around. There is some very minor stilbite present in some of the crevasses, and the Gwindel is attached to a matrix of smaller, non-qwindel quartz crystals. The Gwindel on the right extends the full length of the specimen, top to bottom, and displays a very pronounced twist in this area. It is very bright under case lighting, with numerous internal reflections. Better in person.
