Bismuthinite with Cassiterite and Chalcopyrite$500.00

A fine large miniature specimen of a real Cornish classic. Instantly recognisable as from Fowey Consols, this open texture specimen consists of typical dark green chloritic matrix from which extends a small box-work of thin quartz veinlets crossed with needles of dark grey acicular Bismuthinite crystals up to 18 mm in length. Under magnification it can be seen that some of the Bismuthinite crystals are overgrown by velvety brown Cassiterite, referred to on a previous label as "Wood Tin". At one end of the specimen peculiar growths of Chalcopyrite and Pyrite are seen. When mounted upright for display the richness of the Bismuthinite is really seen. A very nice Cornish classic.
