These classic, striated magnetites are from old finds in Pennsylvania (late 1800s, I was once told), and in any case are rarely seen for sale. This is an attractive miniature that is not just old and clunky like some of these are, but actually displayable by modern standards as well. Perched nicely on minute amounts of color contrasting white matrix, are a cluster of lustrous, black, magnetite crystals to 1.2 cm across that exhibit highly stylized octahedral growth typical of the locality.
