Carletonite
It seems remarkable that such a prominent beautiful blue mineral such as Carletonite has only been found in two worldwide localities and that the Type Locality - Poudrette Quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire - is the only one where significant specimens have been found. Chemically, it is a potassium sodium calcium silicate carbonate hydroxide hydrate. This thumbnail specimen from David Hardman's collection is an exceptional vibrant blue colour. There are no obvious free-formed individual crystals, more a coarsely crystalline aggregate, but it is large enough for the blue colour to really stand out.
