Description
A unique specimen consisting of both ends and the gem translucent slice carefully cut from the center, of a complete opal nodule! All three of these pieces are gorgeous in person, with dramatic and strong play of color within. It is rare to get ONE slice of such quality, let alone a complete set as we see here. Although we purchased this as facet rough assuming it was from Welo, we believe this sliced nodule is from the older locality for opals in Mezezo, Ethiopia, where the classic older "chocolate opals" are found. 63 grams in total mass.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
