Description
Large, lustrous and translucent to almost transparent, intergrown, bright apple-green Cuprian Smithsonite rhombs form a superb miniature from the Tsumeb Mine. This is from a single special pocket, immediately recognizable and seldom seen for sale. This piece has exceptionally large crystals up to 1.5cm that display a bright, almost silky luster and are slightly curved, almost saddle-like. The edges of the Cuprian Smithsonite crystals are rounded and exhibit a chatoyant-like effect due to the myriad of tiny crystal faces along the edges...very captivating. The crystals are slightly intergrown, but distinct, and crystal faces display a bright luster, and the edges have a silky sheen for a contrasting play of light.
