Description
Limpid and glassy, this gem tourmaline crystal shows an interesting color zoning pattern within the crystal. Unlike many other elbaites in the parcel we acquired, the pink zone was interrupted by a solid green zone before blending back to pink. In the second pink zone, there is a distinct darker pink color band near the termination that becomes a vibrant cranberry color when viewed in front of a polarized light source. There is a light green zone in the termination, typical of many of the pieces purchased in this parcel. Very neat! This piece masses 29.7 grams.
