Multiple sprays of stibnite constitute this small-cabinet-sized piece from the San Martin Mine from Zacatecas, Mexico. There are a minimum of three large and a few smaller interlocking sprays of stibnite exhibiting a bluish iridescent metallic luster. Numerous pinkish tan 1 to 2mm siderite crystals are attractively scattered on the stibnite to add color and contrast. A very nice small cabinet piece from this now defunct Mexican mine. Previous labels from Collector's Choice (personal collection, sold in 2004 after Dalton Prince passed away) and the collection of David and Emily Stoudt indicate the piece is jamesonite with boulangerite; however, Dave Stoudt had it analyzed using x-ray diffraction analysis by Attard's Minerals - which indicates that it is, in fact, a rare occurrence of unusually robust stibnite from Mexico! I am told that now we must analyze a number of the old jamesonites from Mexico - some are, and some are not!
