Description
A huge and very rich, museum-sized specimen of micro-crystallized yellow Tsumcorite (Type Locality) perched on small crystals of Quartz. Tsumcorite is a lead, zinc, iron arsenate and is named after the Tsumeb (Tsum) Corporation (Cor) Mine. The sparkly brownish-yellow Tsumcorite is one of the signature rare-mineral species for which the Tsumeb Mine is renowned and also the TYPE LOCALITY. The tiny Tsumcorites richly and aesthetically cover much of the matrix, and there are even a few Tennantite crystals nestled below the Tsumcorite. The Quartz is uncommon for Tsumeb, so this is not only a fine rarity, but also an outstanding combination rarity that because of its size is among the largest display examples of the species I know of. Ex. Willy Israel Collection to me in about 2005, originally.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
