Description
Yes, there are other minerals that have been produced from the Himalaya pegmatite system in California, other than just Tourmaline! This is a super nifty combo piece with an 8.5cm translucent to transparent, lustrous Smoky Quartz crystal front and center that has an intergrown parallel companion as a sidecar. To its left is a 7cm blocky (twinned?) Microcline crystal accented by Albite rosettes to 1.8cm across and there are a few tiny, lavender clusters of Lepidolite scattered on the piece for added color and interest. Pala International label, from Bill Larson, who collected this in the 1970s or 1980s. It is a great matrix and educational addition to the other minerals (mostly tourmaline) anybody might already have from the mine.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
