Description
It's hard to imagine a more interesting and appealing bournonite miniature than this combination from the Yaogangxian mine. The sharp textbook, doubly-terminated bournonite measures 2.3 cm in length and has an attached cluster of three slender, flat, also doubly terminated quartz crystals perched diagonally across the top. On the back there is a small purple fluorite that spans a gap between the bournonite and the quartz! The bournonite crystal is brilliantly metallic, lightly striated parallel to its length and contrasts nicely with the quartz and fluorite. Nearly perfect: the bournonite has one small contact on the back where it was attached to another bournonite. The quartz is pristine and the fluorite has an edge that's compromised - all trivial. Very aesthetic! Ex. Irv Brown collection.
