Choice, straw-yellow Sapphire from Australia. This large, 2.9 cm crystal is a classic crystal habit of Sapphire. It is highly translucent, with a water-worn surface that still more than preserves the crystal faces and edges but masks the true gemminess. The mass is 9.42 grams. A fine Australian Sapphire. We do not have an exact locality but will guess at the alluvial deposits near Inverell, Gough Co., New South Wales, Australia.
