Gorgeous sharp lustrous gemmy colorless to red crystals of calcite on matrix. In excellent condition.The Tonglushan Mine, located near Daye in Hubei Province, China, has an ancient history spanning over three thousand years, serving as a major cradle of early Chinese bronze metallurgy dating back to the Shang Dynasty. Geologically, the deposit is a complex skarn system where Mesozoic intrusive rocks altered surrounding Triassic carbonate strata, creating rich orebodies of copper, iron, and gold. While primarily mined commercially for base metals, the locality has gained widespread renown among mineral collectors for producing exceptional specimen-grade minerals.
