Extremely rare for this region more famously known for its Aquamarine and Fluorite, this is an exceptional Goethite pseudomorph specimen. The original crystals were chisel point Titanite crystals up to an impressive 4 cm in size, and they were all completely replaced by Goethite. At a later time the pseudomorphs received a partial coating of yellow, drusy crystals of Stolzite, which is so rare for here that it isn't even included under the locality's list of minerals on MINDAT (although we have seen examples in the Charlie Key collection and posted them for sale here in the past, around 2010-12). The crystals splay in all directions, giving this large small-cabinet specimen an interesting look from virtually any direction. While admittedly not traditionally glamorous, this remains, for its size, rarity and quality, a significant piece from the well-known Erongo region. It is unique among so many thousands of pieces we have seen from there.
