The Pederneira Mine in Minas Gerais is one of Brazil's great locations, best known for its outstanding Tourmalines in combination. One pocket, known as the 'Lavender Pocket', produced wonderful specimens distinctly different in color from many of the other Tourmalines mined here. In addition to the crystals being GEMMY and lustrous, they have a subtle lavender color with a vivid raspberry termination that helps set these apart. This was circa 2008-9, if I recall. On this lovely pair, the crystals are 6.1 cm and 3.0 cm, respectively, and they match each other very aesthetically. For simplicity and beauty, this small-cabinet cluster is a choice example of this unique pocket from this famous mine. No damage. No repairs. A rare piece, for those who collect specific pockets and styles of this most famous of Tourmaline mines.
