A significant specimen of Euchroite from the Type Locality at the Svätodušná Deposit, Slovakia; and notable for both for the size and richness of the crystals, especially for a miniature! Usually these are loose thumbnail sized crystals or small crystals on a big rock plate. This is a complete all-around cluster of large, green, well-formed crystals of Euchroite. They appear at first to be equant and octahedral, however there are orthorhombic pyramid forms that dominate the other crystal forms. The largest crystal is an amazing 2 cm in size, near or at the top of the known sizes for this species! They have good luster and a color, here, that is reminiscent of Malachite. There is also a rich seam of vibrant green Olivenite that transects the entire piece and it consists of intergrown, divergent, subhedral crystals that appear to alternate back and forth within the seam. This crystal is of good size and is well-placed on the matrix. Euchroite is a rare hydrated copper arsenate and this piece is very rich, significantly more than most! This is an important specimen from the most significant locality for this species. This was always one of the most significant species single crystals in Paul Stahl's important collection of rare species in Mannheim, Germany. he had a suite of such "single crystal monsters" that he had built up over 50 years as a collector.
