Strontianite
This fine strontianite cluster from this famous Austrian deposit has superb crystals with the best translucency and color. It comes from the famous 1952 find in the 803 stope. There over a half dozen, slightly divergent, columnar crystals on this piece that vary in size from 2 to 4 cm in length and up to 2.5 cm across at the slightly curved, terminations. The strontianite crystals are translucent and are a pale blue in the central portion of the crystals, transitioning to a lovely cinnamon-orange near the terminations. The crystals in the cluster are complete except on the back where there are a few incomplete crystals that are out of sight from the display side. The quality of this small cabinet piece is incredible and is world-class for its color, composition and presentation. Rarely do we see these available, especially not like this one. Most of these date back to the 1800s, although some have also been found more recently. It is impossible to say when this came out but I suspect it is an older one due to the fact I haven't seen modern examples of such quality and given it is from Paul Stahl's collection. Paul displayed this at one of the Munich Shows and it comes with that label.
