Rhodochrosite with quartz and pyrite, 7.5 cm, from the Grizzly Bear mine, Ouray County, Colorado. In 1985, John, Larry and Carmen Piekenbrock and I visited Ouray on a collecting trip. We collected this specimen from a large watercoarse pocket in the Zanett tunnel of the Grizzly Bear mine. It was stained bright orange and lightly etched from the acidic water.
