A large plate of somewhat lustrous cassiterite crystals from Llallagua in the Potosi Department of Brazil. This piece came to us from the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences collection. This was a notable specimen in their collection, as it was illustrated in their book “The Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, Vol. XCVI 1944” It is incredible to have an illustrated specimen and its accompanying book from the 1940s.
