Here is an excellent, divergent cluster of sharp, glassy fluorapatite crystals from the notable Sapo Mine pegmatite in Brazil. These were found in the early 2000s in a few pockets and then a large discovery — now all long gone and absorbed into collections as a legendary apatite find. This piece is really elegant and sculptural! There are two primary, divergent spires of lustrous, translucent to transparent, greenish fluorapatite along with a sidecar knob of crystals that comprise this group. Each of the components of this broad, V-shaped cluster are made up of numerous, stacked, glassy, parallel growth, variegated green fluorapatite crystals. The divergent fluorapatites are just slightly curved and twisted for great aesthetics and configured nicely with 4 to 6 mm, hexagonal, sub-crystals in tight parallel growth. The sidecar knob of crystals are larger and is comprised of 1 to 1.5 cm crystals with a distinctive, mottled pale and dark green appearance. The fluorapatites are in excellent condition and their beauty and quality show through this architectural group. A very choice and aesthetic example from this famous 2005-2007 finds.
