A splendid large miniature of Pectolite displaying an excellent botryoidal habit, with edges of the specimen showing great detail of its fibrous radial nature. Pectolite, a sodium calcium hydroxide inosilicate, occurs in amygdaloidal cavities in the Hook Mountain basalt. From the Millington quarry in Somerset County, New Jersey, USA, the creamy botryoidal surfaces are tinged slightly pale green while the exposed radial structures are snow-white grading to slightly pink tinged centres, all with a silky lustre. This is a fine display specimen of Pectolite from New Jersey.
