This location has produced, by order of magnitude, best of species examples of this gem species compared to anywhere else in the world. Ever. A stunning example of the classic, famous diaspore crystals known since perhaps the 1970s, but seldom seen today. This shaep, this checkmark V-twinning, was the most classic form and has been desired for 2 generations of collectors. But, they are seldom seen. The open V twin is more rare in modern production than the closed, more tightly compressed twinning habit; and also anything bigger than 3 cm should be considered exceptional. This is a shocking, geometric, rare large-sized example of what also happens to be a phenomenal gemstone species (now trademarked in some circles as czarite or zultanite), with real gem value. As well, the piece is actually fairly gemmy! Found in 2023. Whatever name these go by in the future, it is all simply the same old diaspore...but the gem mining provided a renewed chance for us crystal collectors to obtain one, when they are saved (in these cases, by a mining engineer there).
