When you think of Mexico, Willemite is not a species you really tend to think of. However, while not on the market today, these specimens of sparkling drusy Willemite were widely admired and highly valued when they came out in the 1970s or before. Now, they are only seen occasionally in old collections. This is one of the biggest and best of them we know of, as it is a beautiful pocket, complete and undamaged. This cabinet-sized, elongate vug is lined completely by a fine druse of Willemite crystals on a rolling surface for some three-dimensionality. It has modest orange fluorescence in short-wave UV. Old material from the Dan Mayer collection to the James Zigras collection who had a Mexico suite that he sold off years ago.
