An outstanding single crystal of the rare phosphate Hydroxylapatite is perched on the matrix of massive creamy-white Hydroxylapatite richly coated with blades of Albite feldspar. This unusual specimen, from Oks'yekollen quarry in Snarum, Buskerud, Norway, has one main Hydroxylapatite crystal 5 cm tall by 3.5 x 3 cm in section and is near-perfectly terminated. The Hydroxylapatite is a chalky-white with a dull, yet satin porcelaneous lustre. A great specimen of a seldom seen species and of museum display quality.
