Description
A rich, 7 cm long seam of reddish-bronze to clove-brown Hübnerite crystals with a bright metallic lustre traverse a matrix of snow-white granular Calcite. Hübnerite is a manganese tungsten oxide and forms the manganese end member of the manganese–iron wolframite solid solution series. Individual Hübnerite crystals are developed to over 1 cm long and 0.5 cm wide. This is an excellent example of Hübnerite from the Adams Claim at Silverton in San Juan County, Colorado, USA.
