A competition-level miniature of this otherwise all-too-common species that features a color and sparkle that even the video may not convey properly: a beautiful combination specimen from the trap rock quarries of India. A complex, elongate, divergent spray of emerald green Fluorapophyllite dominates this exquisite miniature and it is associated with just a bit of contrasting pink Heulandite, a single blade of Stilbite, and charcoal colored basalt matrix for contrast. The gemmy to translucent Fluorapophyllite spray is composed of scores of radiating, tightly bunched, slender prismatic Fluorapophyllite crystals that scintillate and have great luster, not to mention the saturated green color! The crystal-dense central area is a dark emerald green! Scattered loose, clusters of 2 to 3 mm, pink Heulandite crystals accent the periphery for accentuated aesthetics. One white, 1 cm Stilbite crystal graces the right side of the piece and displays prominently. What an attractive and atypical Indian Zeolite specimen! From a single small pocket of early 2019 that produced only a handful of specimens, this is a sparkling jewel of a mineral, quite different than any others you have seen from these productive deposits, in my experience.
