The famous European locality of Knappenwand is renowned for its excellent Epidotes. This prismatic, single crystal has excellent, glassy luster and is gemmy throughout. The color is a dark honey color, with a hint of green along the surface. There are some spots along the crystal where is was contacted with Albite, but the overall condition is very good. A fine Epidote for color, size, and the sharp termination which is robust and 3-dimensional. The bottom termination is actually present and complete, as well, though covered by an albite druse. So, the piece is a floater.
