A big, bright and twinned Cassiterite from the pegmatites of Linopolis. This piece contains a group of sharp, twinned Cassiterite crystals to approximately 3 cm in length that are incredibly lustrous and very fine! At first glance, and without associated matrix, this piece looks like it could originate from Pingwu, China, but it doesn't and the pegmatites in the Linopolis area have produced some exceptional Cassiterite crystals and this is one of them! There are three twin components on this cluster ranging in size from 2.5 to 3.5 cm across. Twin components have have sharply formed crystals with almost fin-like edges. It is not quite pristine, but close enough to it, particularly given the size and roughness of gem miners here. Growth features on the faces of this complex Cassiterite provide added interest and enhance its reflectivity. This is certainly one of the better twinned Cassiterite clusters we have seen from this area in Brazil, especially for the size.
