China has not been, in the past, a contender for world-class copper specimens the likes of Michigan or Onganja. This is changing! Here we see a large and dramatic example for this locality, where a very robust spinel-twinned Copper crystal serves as the "spar" around which these other massive, robust Copper crystals have formed. One can look at this either way: like a tree with the twin pointing down and acting as a pedestal for the treelike display atop; or as a bush of thick crystals with a tall "fruiting body" spire rising out of the midst. The twin is approximately 9 cm, although 6 cm (more or less) is freestanding from the mass. Overall a floater, complete all around. These coppers are from a small lot we purchased from an old miner's family in rural China, and were found here in the early 2000s. 179 grams
