An incredibly well-composed Tetrahedrite piece from a classic Peruvian locality, in rarely pristine condition. Here is a beautifully composed horizontal "chain" of Tetrahedrite crystals from the Casapalca Mine in Peru featuring a dozen, well-formed, textbook crystals representing the shape where the mineral gets its name. These sharply formed Tetrahedrite crystals vary in size from 1 to 3.6 cm on edge and are a super lustrous, metallic steel gray-black with sharply formed edges and faces. Their profile looks like a mountain range and the piece is so aesthetically composed. The faces are subtly complex with striations and some geometric patterns that add to its attractiveness. The points at their apexes are in good condition with only barely noticeable bumps and the edges are in good shape as well with only minor rubbing very locally. Even the bottom is in excellent condition and it's full of geometric patterns that would lead you to believe that this piece is a floater and it could very well be, yet it just may be a perfect separation from atop what may have been other Tetrahedrite crystals it grew on. Ex. George Witters collection.
