Nickelskutterudite with Dolomite and Baryte$2,750.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A rich, and very attractive display quality specimen of nickelskutterudite (formerly known as chloanthite) from Niederschlema area in the Erzgebirge region of Germany. This is really notable for the unusual separation of crystals on the specimen, seldom seen. A few dozen, large, brilliantly silver-metallic crystals of nickelskutterudite richly cover the display face of this excellent cabinet specimen. The complex, almost rounded, isometric crystals displaying cube, octahedron and possibly dodecahedral forms range in size from 5 mm to 3 cm, and there are quite a few large crystals on this handsome piece. The crystals are intergrown, but not too much so that the individual crystal forms are quite evident and so that the contrasting salmon colored baryte can be seen between the crystal groups. This is an exceptional piece from Paul Stahl's rare species collection with an old label.
