Benitoite with Natrolite$6,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Benitoite is a beautiful and interesting mineral because of its unusual triangular crystals, its bright blue color, its bright blue fluorescence in ultraviolet light and its value as a gemstone. It's also fascinating because it contains titanium and is a true oddity in earth's crust! The whole area is host to this one unique deposit that has produced these attractive crystals. Large specimens of any quality from this locality are rare, and have been since the 1930s when the mine was first worked by skilled collectors (see Bancroft, 1986). Large plates with excellent large crystals and strong blue color, like this one, remain and always will be rare. This exceptional piece features over a dozen, very good and well isolated crystals to 2 cm in size standing out in good contrast, with both snow-white natrolite and greenish serpentinite matrix that attracts attention and provides the perfect contrast. The sharper crystals tanding more apart from others is 1.8 cm. An eye-catching and large benitoite plate from this famous locale! We seldom see cabinet sized benitoite specimens for sale today, in any quality or style. This is certainly a lot of "blue triangles" on a large display piece, for the price point.
