A highly significant American locality specimen and an absolutely excellent thumbnail of hübnerite with quartz from the old Black Pine Mine in Montana. It features a one-inch, lustrous, brown-red, sharply formed hübnerite crystal with a cluster of tiny, sparkling quartz crystals on one prism face and then it is sitting on a quartz point for fantastic aesthetics! Subtle horizontal striations can be seen on the face of the hübnerite hosting the quartz cluster. The main hübnerite crystal appears to be crossed along the middle by a second, perpendicular hübnerite, as we are interpreting it from looking at the back of the piece. The quartz point at the bottom measures 1.5 cm and the top is literally crystal clear. A significant specimen for the locality and also meets any aesthetic display criteria. Ex. Jelks collection.
