The Berbes mining district in Spain produces conventionally beautiful purple fluorite with razor-sharp corners, fine zoning and distinctive phantoms. Finds from as recent as 2024 have produced specimens of varying quality - from affordable first collectibles to museum-grade items. Explore our gallery to find the best from Berbes.
Fluorite from Diana Maria Mine and other mines in County Durham is so characteristically glassy dark green, there is a better chance of confusing it with dioptase than with fluorite from any different locality. Some pockets produce specimens with intense daylight fluorescence and contrasting white calcite - absolute treasures!
Clay Center - a truly classic American locality - produced sharp fine fluorite, often in association with white celestine. These are relatively hard to get on the market, especially larger pieces, and are loved by local collectors who are reluctant to release them.
