Cuprite with Dolomite
1
Unknown Owner
With the classic association of rich deep burgundy to purple-red resinous Cuprite crystals and shimmering pearlescent white Dolomite this lovely small miniature specimen from Tsumeb mine is a really lovely thing. Small flashes of green from within the Dolomite indicate the presence of Malachite, but only in traces, but nevertheless adds to the undoubted beauty of this wonderful miniature. The Cuprite crystals, some of which appear to be rhombic dodecahedra in form, also show small but lovely grow-lines on their crystal faces with the small rhombic Dolomite crystals partially overgrowing the Cuprite like a layer of snow. It comes from the famous Weyand Collection.
