Sometimes overlooked, or forgotten, simply owing to colour, it should be remembered that Tsumeb mine in Namibia has produced some of the world's most impressive Wulfenite crystals for sheer size, as well as for their magnificent crystal forms. This large miniature specimen is a fine example of this, featuring a crystallographically superb, large truncated bipyramidal crystal, or tabular crystal with exceptionally well-developed bevelled/chamfered edges. Sitting nicely at one end of a matrix specimen, the wonderful Wulfenite crystal, or what is probably better referred to as a composite of at least three aligned crystals, reaches 1.6 cm on edge individually, or 2.3 cm wide in total, but it is its height too which making it stand out prominently. Brown in colour, the Wulfenite has an extremely fine resinous lustre and presents really well indeed, being in very fine condition.
