A productive bismuth ore mine, we saw specimens of bismuth and molybdenite from here starting in the 1960s, though seldom sharp or well preserved for collectors. This gorgeous bismuth crystal is a rare, well-formed example of the species in competitive thumbnail style and size. It is surprisingly heavy in the hand, due to its high mass. Most such pieces are fragments or cleavages, but this is a rare specimen with crystalline faces and nice geometry. Laszlo Kupi photo.
