A quite attractive and unusual old specimen from California's famous old cinnabar mines. Cinnabar in specimen’s banded vein (silica-carbonate, an alteration product of serpentine), eluding scores of droplets of mercury that did not exist when this specimen was purchased as a location cinnabar in February 2014.
