Tsumeb mine in Namibia has produced some of the world's finest Willemite specimen. Already a very rare zinc silicate species, Willemite from Tsumeb occurs in a very different crystal form to most other world occurrences, and crucially has good colour too. This admittedly small Willemite specimen from Tsumeb is, in my eye, exceptionally well crystallized, presenting a fine greasy lustre like seen in some of the botryoidal specimens from there, and yet it is made of of a layer of well-defined crystals. Not only this, but that colour is so appealing, a somewhat greener shade of blue than is usual for Tsumeb. An extremely choice Tsumeb miniature.
