Classic, twinned, deep golden color describes this calcite from the Elmwood Mine in Tennessee perfectly! The slightly football shaped crystal is doubly terminated but one side is a very complex termination with many smaller points. Gemmy tips allow for demonstration of the double refraction qualities of calcite, and, bonus – it is slightly fluorescent orange under longwave ultraviolet light. While in overall great shape for an older piece, it does show some slight scuffing on tips and top, though they are not very noticeable unless one is looking closely. Photo by IFM.
