Tucson, Arizona, USATsumeb mine is sometimes forgotten about in relation to Wulfenite because although it has produced many of the world's largest crystals, they are often not the vivid yellow, orange, or red colours seen in other world occurrences. That said, there is beauty in Tsumeb Wulfenite's and often they present unusually complex crystallographic forms with a sumptuous greasy lustre. The other feature which Tsumeb has over other world Wulfenite is the more unusual assemblage of associated species. This lovely miniature piece features shallow pyramidal Wulfenite crystals (to 0.9 cm on edge) displaying an unusual dark clove-brown colour and greasy to resinous lustre, and associated with finely crystallized green Zincolivenite and white Dolomite microcrystals on a small piece of Tennantite matrix. The Wulfenite crystals are quite well-formed and with only light chipping along their edges. Ex Weyand collection.
