Prehnite with Thaumasite

This is a showy cluster of bright, beautiful crystals of mint green prehnite from the famed Fairfax Quarry in Virginia. This cabinet sized cluster consists of dozens of 0.7 to 1.5 cm translucent to slightly transparent, sparkling "Roman helmet" shaped crystals, as they are sometimes called due to their shape, of prehnite attractively mounded one upon another and accented by incomplete radial to powdery white thaumasite to 2 cm. Very nice showy contrast between the mint green prehnite and the snow-white thaumasite. This is definitely an old-time piece and excellent piece from this locality. Bought from Mark Duncan on 3/26/1990. He was a Luck employee at the mine, and it was collected by him. Not that it has a big impact, and is really sparkling and beautiful from a distance, but is priced down from a pristine condition value because of numerous spots of damage that reduce the value if not the appeal for some showcases and collections.
