Hemimorphite with Calcite
Unknown Owner
This is a very fine aesthetically pleasing large display quality crystallized colourless to white Hemimorphite from the famous Ojuela mine at Mapimí, Durango, Mexico. This type of material was available at mineral shows back in the 1990s but is another example of how top class discoveries of species come and go quite quickly and are now not seen very often. This cabinet-sized specimen is best displayed upright with its impressive 5.5 cm wide crystal spray of Hemimorphite the centre of attention on top of a finely crystallized colourless Calcite coated matrix. The individual bladed Hemimorphite crystals reach 2 cm in length and are in nice condition. Ex Glyn Cunnick collection.
