A choice smithsonite miniature from notable finds of the 1960s in Tsumeb, this shows an unusual crystal habit for the species developed to huge potential. These elongated scalenohedral crystals are highly unusual for smithsonite and at other locations are small and trivial, so the crystals of this habit for Tsumeb are the best of style. Normally, they form in tight masses of small crystals on larger matrix, or we get them as singles or as small damaged clusters, from Tsumeb. This is a monster, in terms of crystal size, with large crystals to 4 cm aggregated in a flower-like spray. They have gemminess and luster. It is truly a superb, competitive miniature of one of the rarest styles of smithsonite, from Tsumeb or worldwide.
