A dramatic, architectural and frankly huge crystal of solid ruby, showing interesting growth features throughout. This is an old piece that we first had decades ago, from major finds in this gem region of Vietnam. While there are larger crystals, the balance of shape and geometry here, and the pristine condition, make it memorable. It is a heavy weight in the hand at 212 grams, as well. The ruby has a classic waxy luster. Glows when backlit, and goes bright cherry red under UV light.
