Baryte on Calcite$6,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A dramatic 8.5-cm-tall root-beer colored GEM transparent crystal is the obvious highlight of this fine combination piece, of an American classic find. These barytes are regarded by many as among best in world for quality, and in their best quality, you can see why. The combination of luster, color, gemminess is unique. Contrasted, just right as here, on a perfectly trimmed matrix of yellow calcite...and you can see why they have been USA classics for 50 years. This location, even though it only has the one major species, even had a chapter in the American Mineral Treasures book (2008). This is just a superior, elegant, fine specimen in size class. From the Rock Currier Collection (we think it dates to 1980s finds, according to Rock's notes it was from the Robert "Bob" Bartsch collection when Bob died and left Rock his collection). The crystal is 5 cm across the termination and 4 cm thick in depth.
