This shocking lemon-yellow color is unique to the few, rare pockets of cerussite found in this long abandoned lead mine. This is one of the most desired crystal styles for this mineral from ANY locality, because of the dramatic color. The Dundas area is a well-known deposit for this rare occurrence of chromium cerussite, although there have only been a few pockets, over many years, of this rare material. Some fabulous crystals were found in the 1960s-70s (we have had several with labels from the era), and this looks like that older style. A few small finds came to market in the 1990s, although I was honestly unsure if they were truly new finds or old stashes coming to market. A choice thumbnail which lends a nice color boost to any competitive thumbnail exhibition, these are super rare on the market and almost a unique color saturation in the mineral world. Pristine and complete.
