With crystals to 1.4 cm, this gloriously sparkling large miniature is a perfect example of a very specific, high quality of luster and color which came out of Wayne Thompson's mining project here in the mid-1990s. It is pristine and complete all around, showing an unusual 3-dimensionality whereas most were flat plates. At the time, this would have been, even when it came out, probably in the 3500-5000 range. After that amazing discovery, no more of such quality were found despite numerous mining attempts large and small. Most specimens had some slightly less luster and slight brown/dark color, due to inclusions in the crystals during formation. Wayne relates that less than ten percent of what he found had the best fire color. The pieces with this rich color (fire-orange-red) and glassy luster, without the usual slight hue of brown mixed in, were the best and most desirable in the time they came out. This is that quality! Note: hand delivery must be arranged — not for shipment.
